The Nadine and Alexander Schuil Foundation’s “Big Bird Fund” contributes the founders’ personal capital into other existing impact organizations - those that focus on critical areas around recovery - recovery for those children and young adults with special needs resulting from difficult past experiences.  These organizations are actively looking to raise funds to create positive impact and already have proven track records and strong organizational processes in place.  For example, current organizations with diverse goals such as focusing on me too or sexual assault survivor recovery, or, learning music or improving sports facilities in refugee camps.

With time, after Big Bird a second Fund will be established as part of the foundation, raising outside funds in addition to founder capital, and focusing more specifically on one or two critical areas of need for recovering children or young adults - accelerating the opportunity for impact.  We want to ensure children or young adults with difficult past experiences recover to live and feel confident and at par with their more fortunate peers.
